Poppy Treffry’s distinctive original whimsical designs have won fans all over the world, from Mount’s Bay to Manhattan.
Her tea cosies have even be found at Claridge’s, when you order room service, and Poppy and her team have been making advent calendars for Bettys for many years.
Several of Poppy’s designs have translated well into repeat designs and can now be found on fabric. New to the range is Sweet Allium and Top Cats, which join Dachshund and Fox Terrier, Seagull and Oyster Catcher.
The designs with dogs have proved very popular so there will be a Labrador print joining the pack.
Sweet Allium is a soft denim blue fabric with white flowers and green accents. This wild garlic design is inspired by Poppy’s sketches of English summer hedgerows and captures a pretty floral feeling but in her trademark quirky style.
Top Cats is a blue fabric with orange, cream and white details on the felines, many of which have been inspired by fans posting images of their cats on Facebook. Well Poppy did ask!
Launching at Top Drawer both these fabrics will be available in washbags, useful purses both big and small, make-up bags and smart quirky tote bags.
Embroidery remains as an important element to Poppy’s collections and new designs have been created for purses, zip purses and phone covers with a dachshund, bike and an oyster catcher in striking colour mixes.
Not forgetting Christmas, there are three new Christmas cards, some fun festive pots with snowmen and trees embroidered around the edges and new wooden decorations.
Poppy’s freestyle machine embroidery means that every item is unique.
All her staff have been trained to use the vintage Singer sewing machines that are tried and tested to manage the quantity and quality of sewing that Poppy’s designs demand.
